Plein air painting in Saugatuck
Here's a shot from a painting day at Oval Beach--super windy, but so beautiful. I participated in an event for Water Street Gallery where a number of area artists worked for the day, then there was a sale at the gallery that evening of the artwork created that day. Thanks to Ted Swoboda for the pic.

A Larger Format for me
I just have started working a bit larger: this panel is 80" x 36". I did a few smaller studies to work up to this size, and to sort out what the scale would be for this dimension, but have really enjoyed the larger space to move paint around in. I'm using Mega brushes from Dick Blick that are great.

My painting set up one lovely July day.
I try to keep my setup pretty straightforward, so I don't have to spend too much time doing that, as opposed to painting. I have a French easel, a palette that seals in a plastic case, and a jar of gamsol. Plus a small box for paints and brushes, and a couple of large flat cardboard boxes to hold the wet paintings in my trunk.
