Long Point Cove, Lake Huron
We spend a long vacation each summer up in the North Channel in Lake Huron. I take along oil pastels to record the magnificent landscapes of the area. I've recently begun on a series of encaustic paintings working from my drawings. It's a nice spot of summer in the midst of the snowy cold.

Night Sky
I continue to be fascinated by the winter sky and am moving to a bit more abstract of a representation with this oil. Dimensions are 48" x 16"

Wolf Kahn's America

I've been reading a borrowed copy of Wolf Kahn's America. It's a wonderful book full of short blurbs written by Kahn about the many different places he's painted. His writing is so candid and forthcoming--rather rare for an artist to share such intimate thoughts about both is work and the way in which he works. The book is also beautifully designed.
