Evening Light
I've been working on location in the evenings for the past month, anytime after 5-6 pm. This painting was the last one in a recent session. Something about having worked intently for a number of hours that whatever I was trying to say finally jumped into focus with this little painting--@ 12" x 5".

Current Inspiration...
The past month has yielded a number of days with magnificent clouds...huge, towering, white, gray, purple, ocher. I've been trying to capture them in my work but so often, by the time I'm out and set up, they start to dimish! Here's a recent scene I "captured" with my camera...not the same, but it's still magnificent to look at.

New Paintings
Been a busy summer around here--lots of plein air painting and not much blogging! Here's a couple of recent paintings I've been working on in preparation for an upcoming show at Water Street Gallery in Saugatuck, MI. I'm showing new work in an exhibit entitled: Fragments, together with 3D ceramic artist, Paul Flickinger, October 7-9th. The opening reception is Saturday and Sunday, October 7 & 8 from 12-5 pm.

The first painting, Centered, is 6" wide, the second, Yellow Light, is 14" wide and both are oil on panel.
